North coast
Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay (MBJ)
Sangster International sits on Jamaica’s north-west coast and is the closest international gateway to the resort areas around Montego Bay, Negril, Falmouth and Ocho Rios. Travellers heading for a beach-based holiday on that side of the island often search this airport first.
If your accommodation is on the north or west coast, arriving here usually means a shorter onward transfer than arriving in Kingston — but always check the actual transfer distance for your specific hotel or villa.
South-east
Norman Manley International Airport, Kingston (KIN)
Norman Manley International serves Kingston, the capital, in the south-east of the island. It is the more convenient arrival point for the city itself, for business travel, for visits to family in the eastern parishes, and for trips towards Port Antonio and the Blue Mountains.
Kingston can also be worth searching even for a coastal holiday — occasionally the combination of fare and onward travel works out better, though that varies by date and route.

Not every UK airport offers direct flights to Jamaica, and the picture changes with the season and the airlines’ schedules. Rather than assuming, search each airport you are willing to use and compare what actually comes back.

If your plans could work either way, search both. Note the fare, the total journey time and the transfer you would need at the other end, then compare the three together rather than the fare alone. Cross-island travel in Jamaica takes longer than the map suggests, particularly between the north coast and Kingston.
What to check before booking

If an itinerary combines two airlines, confirm whose allowance applies to each leg and whether bags are checked through to Jamaica or need collecting at the connection.
Connections
A connecting itinerary sold as a single ticket normally means the airline is responsible for re-routing you if a delay causes you to miss the onward flight.
